'I have wanted to write a really disruptive book for a long time now and I feel that Awake could actually be the one. It is small (you can read it within 90 minutes), has a very distinctive cover (marmite to some!). It also features a conversation between my mum and the late Queen, as well as a series of chats in a pub and a short excerpt from a Star Trek episode.
The book is what I call my ‘icebreaker’, something to bludgeon through the solid mass of wokeness that has infiltrated our society and dulled the senses. It introduces the concept of ‘hypnopompia’, the dream-like state we are in just before emerging from our sleep, with the observation that most of us are so deadened by the restrictions and confusions of our culture that we walk around in this state, with no drive or ambitions, just striving to survive the day. What is missing is a sense of purpose and the book encourages people to find it before it is too late, as none of us know how many years we have left (death is a persistent theme in the book). I scatter enough ‘breadcrumbs’ so that people are aware of my Christian background but the book is not preachy – you will not even find the word ‘God’ mentioned even once. In one place, near the end of the book, the Gospel is explained in a single sentence and left hanging. This should be enough to sow a seed, which is watered by the developing narrative in the book to leave the reader in a state where the Holy Spirit can lead them into truth, without me needing to clumsily ‘trick them into believing’, as many cynics would suggest if my book was more overt in its ‘Christianity’.'

The time between your order being dispatched and you receiving it will depend upon the services of Royal Mail and the delivery option you select.
